1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the DoReal smartphone application (the “App”) provided by DoReal Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Information handled on your device
The App stores the following information on your device: URLs of content you share, public titles and thumbnails needed to display cards, titles and notes you enter, album names, colors and ordering, themes, and display settings.
This on-device information includes the library name, world name, album titles, album notes, card titles, Message, Comment, memos, source information needed to display cards (such as the URL, creator, and description), and thumbnails and other information needed to display cards and albums.
Information in the cards, albums, libraries, and other items you create or edit in DoReal is stored on your device in principle. It is not automatically uploaded to DoReal Studio servers, and DoReal does not provide cloud synchronization.
When you scan a QR code, the App processes the camera image. When you import a saved QR image, it processes only the image you select. This processing is used solely to import a card or album.
3. Personal information we collect
The App does not include user accounts operated by us, cloud storage servers, advertising, or user tracking. We do not obtain, view, or store cards, URLs, notes, images, or usage history saved within the App.
If analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or another external SDK is added in the future, we will update this policy and the relevant app-store disclosures before making it available.
4. Communication with external services
When a card is created, the App may connect to the relevant external service to retrieve the public title or thumbnail for the URL selected by the user. When content is played, the App opens the source app or web service.
When you play video or music in the source app or a browser, you use that external service through your own action. This does not automatically upload your DoReal information to our servers or enable cloud synchronization.
Those services may process information such as your IP address and device or browser information. Their terms and privacy policies govern that processing. We do not receive or store information collected by those external services.
5. Access to device features
Camera: Used to scan a QR code for a card or album.
Photos: Used to read a saved QR image and to save a QR image created by the App.
Internet connection: Used to retrieve public titles and thumbnails and to play content on the source service.
Each feature is accessed only to the extent necessary when you choose to use the relevant function.
6. Sharing by users
You can create a QR code containing card or album information and share it with recipients you choose. You control what is shared and with whom. We do not collect, relay, or publish those QR codes.
When you save a QR code to your device or share it by email, LINE, a social network, or another method, you use your device's Photos or Files features or an external service through your own action.
7. Retention and deletion
Information stored in the App remains on your device until you delete the relevant card or erase the App's data through your device settings. What is removed when the App is uninstalled may vary depending on the OS, device settings, and backup settings.
QR images or files you save or export to Photos, Downloads, or another location outside the App may remain after the App is removed. Delete them through your device's Photos app or file manager.
8. Security
The App stores information in its on-device application area and related local locations. Please manage your screen lock, OS updates, backups, and other device settings appropriately. Because QR codes contain the information being shared, check the recipient before sharing.
9. Children
The App is not designed primarily for children. When using external content, follow the source service's age requirements and any parental device settings.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features are added or when laws or app-store requirements change. We will announce material changes in the App or on our website.
