Learn the basic features of DoReal and the key points for enjoying it safely.
DoReal is an app that lets you collect links to videos and music you love as cards (DoReca) and build a world of your own.
Nine cards make one album, nine albums make one library, and nine libraries make one world.
You can save up to 729 cards across your standard albums and 48 cards in the Clip Album, for a total of 777 cards.
Choose DoReal from the share menu in YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, or YouTube Music to create a card for a video or song.
Cards created through sharing are first saved to the Clip Album. The Clip Album can hold up to 48 cards, and you can move them to a standard album in Settings mode.
For each card, you can play the video or music; edit the title; add and edit a Message, Comment, and memo; and view source information such as the URL, creator, and description. The card color is determined by the colors in its thumbnail. Album and Library colors are determined in the same way.
Use the gear/play icon at the bottom of the card screen to switch between Play mode and Settings mode.
In Play mode, you can play the video or music, use the card memo, and view the original information.
In Settings mode, you can edit the card, move it up or down, move it to another album, share it by QR code, or delete it.
Each album can hold up to nine cards. Nine albums make one library, and nine libraries make one world.
You can edit the names of worlds, libraries, and albums. Press and hold to reorder libraries and albums. To reorder cards, press and hold on the preview screen or use the up/down icons in Settings mode.
Use the icon at the bottom right of the screen to move in this order: Card → Preview → Album list → Library list.
On a tablet, the card screen shows one card per page. Swipe up or down to move between cards.
Each card can have a memo of up to 1,000 characters. Each album can have a note of up to 300 characters, shown below the preview. Memos and album notes are for your own use and are not included when sharing by QR code.
Card information shows any available original details, such as the original title, creator, publication date, and source URL.
Cards and albums can be shared by QR code, and the displayed QR image can be saved to your device's Photos or Gallery. You can import a QR code with the camera or from a saved image.
Saved QR codes can be shared by email, LINE, social media, and other services.
A card QR code shares the information needed to open the original video or music, together with the edited title, Message, Comment, and display color. An album QR code shares the album name, display color, and the video or music information and order for up to nine cards. Edited titles, Messages, and Comments for individual cards are not included.
Scan a card QR code from the QR icon at the top right of the Clip Album to add it there. To import an album QR code, open an empty album and use its QR icon. To prevent overwriting, you cannot import an album QR code into an album that already contains cards.
A QR code may not be imported if the original video or music has been deleted, made private, or otherwise become unavailable. Card memos and album notes are not included in either type of QR sharing.
Tap the service name on a card to play the video or music in the official YouTube, TikTok, or YouTube Music app, or in a browser. When you return to DoReal after playback, you can continue from the same card.
A video or song may not play if the original has been deleted or made private, if viewing is restricted by region or age, because of network conditions, or because the service has changed its specifications.
Use the YouTube, TikTok, and Music buttons at the bottom of the Library screen to open each service directly. Choose the video or music you want to turn into a card, then select DoReal from the share menu.
In Settings from the three-dot menu, you can set the language to Match device, Japanese, or English, and set the appearance to Match device, Light, or Dark. You can check the current version under App information.
On Library, Album, Card, and other screens, you can also switch quickly between Light and Dark using the sun/moon icon at the bottom left.
DoReal cards, albums, memos, and album notes are stored on your device and are not sent to DoReal servers.
Only when you share by QR code is the information for the selected QR type included in the QR code.
DoReal does not save or distribute video or music files on your device. It saves links shared from each service as cards.
